Colourful Tulip Fields – A Three-Panel Sketchbook Spread
Hi everyone! 👋
The recording from last night's session is now available in the community library — you'll find it as the first video under the Mixed Media heading, alongside lots of other classes.

A little behind-the-scenes note: I was so glad I recorded it twice — both in my usual programme and as a Zoom backup — because for some reason the sound didn't come through on the main recording! Thankfully the Zoom backup had the audio, so all is well! 😅
I really enjoyed playing with mixed media last night, and from your reactions I think you did too! I love that moment when you start experimenting with different art materials and layering combinations on top of each other — yes, it can go a little bit wrong sometimes, but that's honestly part of the fun. When you take that risk and play freely, you can discover the most wonderful combinations and textures that you'd never have found otherwise. I was really happy with how my sketchbook spread came out, and I thought all of yours looked absolutely amazing too!
Some of you have already shared your work here in the group — thank you! If you haven't yet, please do share yours because I'll be picking someone for a giveaway this weekend 🎨🎁
I'm also planning to film another art materials review video soon. I've already done videos on ink, liquid watercolour, Conté sticks, and watercolour pencils, so if you have any questions about a specific material you'd love me to look at, drop them in the comments and I'll add them to my list!
And can you believe it's already the 1st of May?! I'm so looking forward to creating with you this month — our theme is Wild and Free, think wild animals, wild nature, and all that wonderful freedom that comes with it. It's going to be a brilliant month! 🌿🐆
See you soon! 💛

This class was so fun! Very playful to look at my stuff and just make everything intuitive instead of following the reference photo! I love the mess on my table too.
