January Theme: Winter Quiet
I will use Gouache for this Artist Study.
We are going to be studying the work of Erin Hansen, an American artist who is known for her vibrant, expressive style called open impressionism. Her paintings are full of movement, texture and light, and I absolutely love how alive they feel.
The artwork we will be using as our reference is her beautiful painting Ruby Beach. We will look at her bold use of colour, her brushstrokes and the way she builds up the scene, and then I will guide you step by step as you create your own study of this piece.
