June Theme - Sketching Outdoors

For this art class, we will be taking our sketchbooks outdoors in spirit and heading into a café scene.

The focus for this session is sketching people in a café environment, and working in a loose, quick and expressive way. We will explore how to capture the atmosphere around us, along with the movement and presence of people, without getting caught up in too much detail.

You are very welcome to use any materials you enjoy, and this can be a mixed media approach if you wish. I will probably be using a sketch pencil, ink, and a light touch of watercolour to bring in some colour, and I may also add coloured pencils for extra depth and interest.
