Hi My lovely creatives, In this introduction live session I will show you the different types of charcoal, other materials that come in very handy when drawing in charcoals, I will show you what paper you need, answer your questions and we will make a small drawing together.

I believe charcoal is the best medium for those who are new to drawing. It is a very forgiving medium as you can create so many different textures and make loads of changes to your artwork. It is also a relatively cheap medium and small to take with you if you want to do some drawing on the road.

I use my charcoals mostly for loose sketches and for more detailed animal portraits .

you can join in by just watching or grab some drawing materials and draw along with me.

My materials include:

• Willow charcoal
• compressed charcoal
• NOT drawing paper
• an eraser
• blending sticks
• sketch pencils/black pencil

I will go over each of these materials in more details in the live session.
