Hi my lovely creatives,

This is the recording of last night's coloured pencil session. I had so much fun with this one. I really love these more organic shapes and slightly more abstract drawings, and I found the whole process incredibly soothing.

As always, I absolutely loved seeing your artwork at the end of the session. Everyone's jellyfish turned out so differently, and they all looked amazing.

I have to say I like everyone else's jellyfish a lot more than mine. I started off using just purple, orange and green and it looked really flat. The dark blue brought it to life so I felt happier with it, but now I think I have overworked all the colours giving ir a rather heavy look rather than the ethereal look of a real jellyfish.

So first is what I had by end of class (was late so I didn’t see the reference artist)

Then this is what I had when I stopped working on it.

Then I decided to try an ultramarine background even though I was not working on watercolor paper. I think maybe my paint or brush was a little dirty because I wanted something a little more blue violet. Or maybe painting over the colored pencil muddied my paint color a little? But anyway this is the “finished” product.

It was all very relaxing.
