Art tutorial of the week:
Hi my lovely creatives,
For todays art tutorial we are painting an owl in watercolour pencils.
Watercolour pencils
Watercolour pencils are a great medium for on the road. I often use them when I travel to make a drawing of my surroundings and I add the water when I get home. It is a quick and fun way to take your art on holiday and I would highly recommend to give it a go.
Today we are not painting a landscape though, but we are creating an animal portrait. Owls are some of my favourite animals. You will see them pop up in my art on a regular basis and I love using them as models for my art classes too. Owls are not difficult to draw and you can use this free template to set up your sketch.
I have created a FREE sketch template that you can use to make your initial sketch and you can find it here (I know it says buy now but it is free) :
I have also been wondering, when you use watercolour pencils, do you create a painting or a drawing?
When you use watercolour pencils is it

I always love to see your creations so make sure you share them with me in the community gallery Here or on social media by tagging me @makingsandmusings.
I hope you have fun creating this!
