In this session, I will guide you step by step as we create a mixed media autumn landscape together. We will begin with a soft and colourful watercolor background, using bold washes for the sky and land. From there, we will gradually build up our scene with layers of pencils, pens, and other materials to bring texture, detail, and depth.

✨ Materials you will need ✨

• Watercolour paints (a basic set is fine – include yellows, browns, greens, and blues)

• Watercolour paper (hot-pressed or cold-pressed, whichever you prefer)

• Pencils (graphite and/or coloured pencils)

• Fine liner pens or ink pens (for details and contrast)

• Brushes in different sizes (including one larger brush for washes and a smaller one for details)

• Water pot and tissue paper (for blotting and softening edges)

• Cotton buds (optional, for adding texture)

• A board or surface to support your paper while painting

• Crayons or other mixed media materials you enjoy (optional)

I will show you how to sketch a simple composition, place a horizon line, and leave space for trees and clouds to emerge later. You will learn how to paint a glowing sky with the wet-on-wet technique, how to mix muted greens and autumn tones, and how to keep your clouds looking natural and light.

Along the way, I will also share tips about watercolour papers, how to avoid overworking your painting, and how to use everyday tools like cotton buds or tissues to create beautiful textures. We will explore tree shapes, stems, and branches, working with contrast and variety so they feel full of life.

This is not about creating a perfect or precise picture—it is about enjoying the process, layering colour, and letting your own style shine through. I encourage you to experiment, take your time, and make this landscape your own.
