The short answer

The Sketchbook Circle meets live online every Thursday at 6 PM UK time. That is 1 PM in New York, 10 AM in Los Angeles and 7 PM in Paris or Amsterdam. You only need a sketchbook and a pen or pencil, and you can join from any country.

Where members join from

I teach from Cambridge in England, and the Circle is made up of people from the UK, the US, the Netherlands and across Europe. We all end up around the same screen on a Thursday, with a drink and a sketchbook.

If you cannot join the live sessions, recordings are shared in our Library.

Thursday at 6 PM UK time. Bring your sketchbook and a cup of tea.

Class times where you live

Live classes are on Thursdays at 6 PM UK time. Here is what that means in a few places, so you do not have to work it out.

Which weeks?

The UK and Europe change their clocks on the last Sunday of March and October.

The US changes on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November.

For a week or two in between, the US is an hour behind where it normally is, so class lands an hour later on the US clock. In the US spring it is the US that changes first, and in the autumn it is the UK and Europe.

This autumn: 25 to 31 October. Spring 2027: 14 to 27 March.

The UK and Europe stay the same distance apart all year.

If the class is in the middle of your night

In Australia, New Zealand and much of Asia, a 6 PM UK class falls in the early hours. You are still welcome in the community, and these ways to learn with me do not depend on the clock:

  • If you cannot make the live session, the recording is shared in the Sketchbook Circle Library.

  • The Sketch Hub has short prerecorded videos you can watch whenever suits you.

  • My courses are recorded, with no live sessions, and each one teaches a single skill.
