Clown Fish

Not very happy with this one and I know why! In a moment of thrift I dug out the cheap watercolour paper I bought years ago when I tried once before to learn to paint, thinking I ought to use it up. It doesn’t say on the pack what weight it is, what it’s made from or how it was pressed. And however much water I use, the paint just sits there. It doesn’t blend, it doesn’t move around, it doesn’t follow the water. Lesson learned, the rest of the pack is going on my scrap paper heap.

Also, one of my fish looks so sad I think he just lost Nemo.

It is still a lovely painting! I recommend using this watercolour for mixed media in the future - you can throw all sorts of supplies at it and it probably holds up better than drawing paper. I love that you start noticing how different paper behaves and that you realise the difference!
