What are Tempera Paint Sticks?
Hello everyone,
It is time for another Art Materials Review!
This month I am exploring tempera paint sticks – a material I originally bought for a children's workshop a few years ago, but one that has gradually become a real favourite in my own creative practice.
In this video, I share what tempera paint sticks are, how they work, and some of the ways I like to use them. I create a journal page with them and talk about why I find them such a freeing, playful medium to work with.
What I love most is that they are bold, colourful, quick-drying and surprisingly versatile. They can be wonderful for sketchbooks, journaling, mixed media work and anyone who wants to loosen up and create without worrying too much about getting things perfect.
You can watch the video here:
I would love to hear from you: have you ever used tempera paint sticks? If so, what did you think of them? And if not, is this a material you would like to try?
As always, if there is an art material you would like me to review in a future video, please let me know. I am having great fun making this series and discovering new ways to create.
Happy making, Irene

These look interesting. They remind me of the pastels that you used durubg your daily art series. Shortly after that I recieved a few in a subscription art supply box and really liked them so I just got a set to start working with!
