ONLINE ART COURSES
Not sure where to begin?
I have three recommendations.
🌱 Brand new to art? This is my most popular beginners course.
🎨 Want to learn to paint? Mindful Watercolours is a lovely introduction.
✏️ Want to improve your drawing? Start with Line and Wash.
Really New to Art? - These are the courses to start with:
If you are new to art, this is a wonderful place to begin. I will gently guide you step by step and show you that creativity is something you already have within you. As long as you can hold a pencil or a brush, you can begin here with confidence and ease.
Unlimited lifetime access to all Makings and Musings Courses
My courses are designed for you to begin straight away, with instant access and the freedom to learn entirely at your own pace.
Each course focuses on a specific skill or material, so you can dive deeply into areas such as watercolour, coloured pencil, or portraiture whenever you feel ready.
Colour Pencil Courses
When I first started coloured pencil drawing I completely fell in love with this medium, and I still find it such a calming and rewarding way to create. The small, gentle movements feel mindful and soothing, while the medium itself is wonderfully versatile, colourful, and full of possibility.
These courses are perfect if you would like to build confidence with coloured pencils and develop your skills further. I will guide you towards creating rich, detailed, and more realistic drawings that feel both expressive and full of life.
Watercolour Courses
Watercolour is the medium I return to again and again. It is fluid, expressive, and full of beautiful surprises, and I love sharing just how accessible it can be.
These courses are perfect if you would like to learn watercolour in a relaxed, beginner-friendly way. They are colourful, joyful, and designed to help you build confidence while enjoying the process of painting.
Line & Wash Courses
In these courses, I will show you a technique I absolutely love called line and wash. The line is a waterproof ink drawing, and the wash is watercolour layered over the top.
By combining the two, you get the structure and guidance of a drawing, alongside the softness and movement of the paint. It is a beautiful balance that helps your watercolour feel more confident, expressive, and much easier to control, while still keeping that lovely sense of flow.
Find Your Own Style
These courses are designed to help you gently discover your own artistic style.
They are playful and experimental, introducing you to a range of techniques while giving you space to explore what feels most natural to you.
Many people who have taken these courses have gone on to create their own work with much more confidence, developing a personal artistic voice that feels truly their own.
Mixed Media, Marker and Other Materials
These courses explore a variety of art materials and how they can work together in unexpected and exciting ways. Alcohol markers and coloured pencils are a wonderful combination, while acrylic paint pens are perfect for creating quick, bold, and colourful shapes.
This collection is ideal if you already have art materials at home and would like to start experimenting more freely. It is about learning how to combine what you have, let go a little, and discover new creative possibilities along the way.
Start Drawing Portraits
When you draw portraits, you never run out of subjects to explore. Every face is different, full of character, expression, and quiet detail that makes it endlessly fascinating to observe and capture.
Courses for Animal Lovers:
In these courses, we explore the beauty of the animal world through different materials and approaches. Gouache is perfect for bold, colourful paintings with strong shapes and expressive marks, while alcohol markers and coloured pencils allow for more detailed, realistic work with delicate texture and depth.
I really love drawing and painting animals, and I know many of you do too. There is something so grounding about observing the natural world and bringing it to life on the page.
Landscapes
I absolutely love working with landscapes, and watercolour is often my medium of choice for them. It is a wonderful space to play with colour, atmosphere, and mood, and to gently shift what you see into something that feels more personal.
Not everything needs to be a direct copy of reality. Instead, you can begin to interpret what is in front of you and bring your own feeling and perspective into the work.I love that balance between observation and imagination, where you can still recognise a place, but it is filtered through your own artistic voice.
