Primroses. I don't have any acrylic markers yet. Can anyone suggest a good set to buy for first attempts? I don't want to commit to an expensive set until I'm sure I will like them.

Really enjoyed painting the primroses - I really got lost in process and
found it a mindful moment whilst creating the flowers. Thank you for
a lovely class Irene!

Another fun session. I really enjoy combining media like this. I think my hedgehog might be about to produce hoglets!
We haven’t had hedgehogs in the garden for a few years now. I think the local foxes and badgers have scared them away.

I like the idea of this and if my hedgehogs were just a bit better I would really like it. I would love to use this method to capture a place that is important to me. I will definitely be giving this another go in the future. Thank you.
I loved doing this!

I have never used Acryllic paint markers to paint/draw an entire painting. My new Ohuhu paint markers are so luxurious to use. I loved this lesson. Thank you Irene 🥰🥰🥰

🐽😂

I am really enjoying drawing with colour pencils

I loved this lesson . The sealife scene takes on a fantasy underwater painting I think

Here's my pup. I do love using coloured pencils.

Class today referencing Erin Hansen painting. This one is watercolor and guache. I bit too bright. Will leave it till tomorrow and work on it again.

Finally joined Sketch Hub
Still life. I used oil pastels for the main shapes and pencils for the details and shading.

Thi

s made me think of Lake Garda where we went on holiday a year and a half ago. I loved how you taught us to go about painting this Irene . Thank you 😊😊😊
I teally enjoyed painting this. It teally uplifted me. Thank you sweet, very talented Irene

🥰
I scrolled through the archives and found this class from back in April 2024. I love that we have all these old lessons to rummage around in looking for inspiration. I think I've made the head too big for the body to be realistic, but on the other hand I think the bigger head makes it look super cute!

This was a true mix of multimedia - watercolour, black gouche, and colour pencils. I have never done a black sky before

Northern lights painting. I went through a stage of thinking it was all going to be a chaotic mess, but once the details were added later on it all came together. Irene keeps telling us to trust the process, and this piece showed me how very important that is

Inspired by last week's cardinal, I had a go at one of my favourite birds, a wren.

I loved doing this Irene. Doing your gorgeous lessons is helping in the healing of Bronchitis which got out of control. So looking forward to returning to Art properly too and sharing with this amazing Community. I love the Artwork everybody has been posting . Just beautiful xxx 💫

I loved drawing this cardinal.

A old one that I forgot to post…

Every evening and early moring I hear the owl in the barns across the lane.
So I was inspirated to do this picture. I really enjoyed this painting

I had trouble with white materials but enjoyed the playing with
the colours and different art materials

Wintry enchanted forest

Finished it off at the weekend. I love the purples, feels magical. 💜
I think I would like to work on understanding where bits should be lighter/ darker based on foreground and background. I find that hard to conceptualise somehow.
From the archives again, some birds in the blossom because it’s spring soon, right?
Another delve into the archives, with a watercolour sunset. Love how the layers build up

Watercolour calf from the archives. I think she looks rather flirtatious!

I enjoyed this a lot. He is majestic.
Tried the owl again and think I’ve improved since my two attempts last year. ☺️
It's so appreciated being able to log into Art with Irene in Makings and Musings. The library has so much content and I am transported into a Creative land which is full of colour 🥰
Found the sketching instructions for this dog in the archives and it's the absolute image of my late brother's devoted dog so I just had to try it

My slightly suspicious reindeer 🎄

Second attempt
Here's my reindeer flying in to join the herd! I did add some salt to the background but maybe not enough, and as I have no gouache I used dilute gesso for spattered snowflakes.

This was just perfect to get me into the festive spirit and I learnt such a lot from trying new techniques. I love the photos of everyones reindeers. It's so exciting to see the different interpretations and personal styles in all our paintings .

Thank you Irene. Really enjoyed the class my Reindeer ended up having
a sparkling effect - it was not planned but the watercolour paint had a
glitter effect in the paint. Seasons Greetings to you all.

First attempts so far.
I can't stop engaging in these amazing lessons. They have made such a difference to my Mental wellbeing and exploring different mediums has been a huge learning curve. So fabulous to see everyones work and to cheer one another along. Thank you Makings and Musings 😊

My koi Carp
Here is my artwork from last night. I really enjoyed it as it's only my
third picture with the group. Thank you Irene I am really enjoying
the classes

I am a bit absent from the live sessions and missing you a lot...

Thank you for this magical watercolour hare lesson ... I feel now that hares do infact have mystical energy . I sort of felt it drawing him ..

I think between our weekly sessions in the community and the Autumn pencil course, colloured pencils have become my favourite medium to work with. Absolutely loved creating this week's hare.

I really enjoyed doing this and felt very tranquil afterwards. Thank you for the lovely lesson xx
Storyland village - I decided to set my scene on a summer's day rather than a winter night. So of course there had to be a duck pond. Can you spot the cat hungrily eyeing the duck through a window?

My kitchen is turning into a very disorganized Artshop with lots of new materials to use in all the fab lessons. Thank you 🥰
I loved the way we were taught how to layer our inks and paints in this lesson. I shall practice my animals for a second go .

Thank you so much Irene for your truly magical fairytale line and wash class this evening . I loved it and am very inspired to make a Christmas card using these techniques and theme you covered.
It was lovely meeting everyone and sharing our work.
Happy fairytale painting everyone
Lucy xxx🥰
I'll be on holiday from next week until early December so trying to make as many Christmas cards as possible before going
Looks a little post apocalyptic to me but I think I still like it. Thanks!
My fantasy woodland scene

I don’t mind how this turned out. I am quite enjoying adding colouring pencils to things. Thank you ☺️
I just finished this delightful lesson in Makings and Musings . So fun and yes Irene, I agree totally that it's very liberating being free with our Art work. Thank you xxx

This was really therapeutic and has inspired me to go for more Autumn walks. Thank you Irene and Makings and Musings. The photo is one taken today of the Autumn trees .
I had a go at the Highland Cow. I made the face too thin but really enjoyed doing this. I hope we'll get more watercolour pencil tutorials, I have hardly used mine and would love more inspiration for ways to use them.

My sunny sunflower. Thank you for such an uplifting lesson. I loved doung this sunflower using mixed media 🌻

Autumn Flowers .
I loved painting this . Thank you so much Irene . I think Makings and Musings is a fabulous Art School 😊

This was great fun to do. I got a couple of smudges on the paper so did a spattered background to make them look deliberate!

Loved doing this one
